Welcome to Whiting and Hammond. We are an independently managed group of pubs in the South East of England.
In the late summer of 2003 we opened The Chaser Inn in Shipbourne, Tonbridge and on the back of this successful enterprise we have been able to open more, The Old Mill (used to be called Dunning Mill) East Grinstead, The Mark Cross Inn at Mark Cross Nr Tunbridge Wells, The Little Brown Jug at Chiddingstone Causeway Nr Tonbridge, and The Farm @ Friday St at Friday Street Nr Eastbourne.
As a group all the pubs have the same goals, we want to create a place where people can come for every occasion or just a bite to eat or a few drinks with friends. The food will be great and we are proud of our beers and wines.
We only use quality ingredients, we have our beef hung for over 21 days, our fish is purchased daily from recommendations from our fishmonger, our vegetables are grown locally or sourced from Covent Garden.
We are very proud of our pubs and hope you are too.
The Little Brown Jug was shortlisted in The Publican 2008/2009 Awards in the category of Food Pub of the Year, along with that, Todd, the Assistant Manager, was shortlisted in the category of Bar Person of the Year. The Mark Cross won the category of Customer Service Pub and Whiting and Hammond was nominated in the Small Multiple Operator category.
Whiting and Hammond are very proud to report that they were announced as the winners of "Food Pub Company of The Year" in The Publican's Food and Drink Awards 2009 held on 3rd November 2009.
The Whiting and Hammond Charity Cycle Challenge happened on the 5th September 2009 and was a huge success. We are however still accepting donations! Click Here to visit the Challenge website.
